We’ve been honored at the warm reception Penobscot County residents have given us since we opened our doors in its county seat. As part of the Bangor community, we are pleased to provide educational opportunities to our new neighbors, helping them beautify their yards and gardens. Kids’ Arbor Day Art Contest!

Do YOU have a young artist in your life? Sprague’s Nursery is excited to host our first-ever Kids’ Art Contest in celebration of Arbor Day!


Kids are invited to show their creativity by creating artwork inspired by trees, nature, and the outdoors. It’s a fun way for young artists to celebrate Arbor Day while learning about the importance of trees in our community.


All participants will receive a young tree sapling to take home and plant. One winning artist will also get to choose a 7-gallon tree to bring home and grow.

  • Open to young artists who love to draw, color, or paint
  • All participants receive a tree sapling
  • Contest winner selects a 7-gallon tree
  • Limited to the first 75 participants

  • Contest Guidelines

    Submission Details

    • Participants must be 12 years or younger
    • Artwork must be 8 ½ x 11 inches, can be any medium, and should celebrate trees!
    • Participant’s name, age, and a parent/guardian’s phone number MUST be included with submission!

    Prizes

    • All participants will receive a small prize (Up to 75 participants)
    • One winner will receive a 7 gallon tree of choice valued at a maximum of $225

    Deadlines

    • Artwork must be mailed in or delivered in-person by April 20th to:

    • Winner will be announced April 22nd
    • The winner and all participants must pick up their prizes from 8:00am till 5:00pm on April 25th with no exceptions
